After i double click on the Bitcomet Icon an error window shows up and it says "Can Not Listen To Port:14747" After I click Ok. Bitcomet pops up. When i go into prefrences and try to change the port number to anything Except itself and press ok in prefences the ok button stays pushed in and the entire window of prefences and bitcomet freezesand i have to go into task manager to end the task. Maybe i am doing something wrong but i don't think so. I just recently did a system recovery with disks i ordered from compaq. before i did the system recovery i was using bitcomet every day now it does not work at all. I am deeply confused please leave any comments or advice and tips please.
Uninstall it, then reinstall
*and while yer at it, ye might as well start using a proper client like ”torrent, Azureus, Mainline, Yet Another Bittorrent Client (aka ABC).*
I have already uniinstalled and installed it about 4 times. An utorrent And ABC wont work on my computer for some stupid ass reason. an dWhen i tryed Azureus and i got no more than 6kb a second with 250+ seeds. So gues i will try mainline but bitcomet was alot better than any of them i got50kb+ on 20 seeds.
I just wanted to clarify what Fiend was trying to tell you.
BitComet is generally considered a leecher client, because of the way it handles announces and lets users connect more than once per IP to get more bandwidth.
I can't fathom why ABC nor uTorrent would work for you. I'm personally not the biggest fan of uT, but from my limited experience it's quite simple to use assuming you let it use UPnP or you forward your ports correctly. It does like to use random ports, which will cause you problems if you don't let it use UPnP. I haven't used ABC since about 2 years ago, but that's because Azureus got fixed and I started using it.
I would suggest getting a copy of registry mechanic and using it on your system, it seems to me that you've got quite a number of issues if things "just won't work" for you.
