Hey, I've been reading all the stickies where I'm supposed to direct my n00bishness, but I'm still... very lost. I just have a very simple question, so if someone can tell me where to ask it or just plain answer it that'd be great. I'm new to all this and I was wondering, are backup disks playable? If I copy a PS2 game to my HD with DVD Decrypter, and burn it to blank media, can I plop that into my PS2 and play it simple as that?

No, if you wish to play PS2 Back up(burnt) cd/dvd you need either SwapMagic(or equivellent) or a ModChip.

SwapMagic says I need a Modchip for it alone to work..? Or is this just for the "newest" PS2s, like it says? My PS2 is big and old, I don't believe it's "new".

if you have the older "fat" PS2 then you only need swap magic & the slide tool & don't need an actual mod chip.

But if you have the newer ps2 then I think you need to use the "Magic Switch" with swap magic.

I have the fatty & slide tool tho.
