help after downloading from bit lord

hi i just downloaded a game from bitlord but i don't no what to do next, the game is true crime new york city. i read the other form called How to play games downloaded from bitlord or bittorrent and extracted the things inside all that came out was a image file i went and downloaded a image opening program but it said does no reconise the format.plz help
thjanks in advance(any help greatly appreciated)

ok. its an image file. NOT the normal kind like a picture of something u took with a camera, or anything like that. It is an 'image' of the game. not literally like a photo image, but...i think u sorta get the point. now what u do is get a program called Nero, which is what i use, just google it. now go to 'burn image to disk', and burn it to a DVD.
btw, look at the file size. since i dont know the size, if true crime is over 4.7 gb and u dont have a dual layered burner, go here to rebuild it to make it smaller http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/210515

You do not need to bother with downloading the huge trial version of Nero as chanman1 suggested. First some questions that need to be answered...
1) What is this game for? (ex. ps2,pc,xbox??)
2) What type of file is it? (ex. ISO,mdf/mds/.daa??)
3) Do you have any software that can use/edit/burn image files? (ex.Nero,UltraISO,ISOBuster,Daemon Tools??)
There is more than this to just burning a game with Roxio or Nero.
Please post a answer to these questions. I will try and reply ASAP
@chanman1: I know that c48298 downloaded a image file I asked what type of file because it depends. If its an ISO anything can burn it really but if its say a .DAA file the only program that can open/modiy those is PowerISO so is makes sense to ask what type of image file it is.

I think you'd be surprized to see what Nero will open. Just because it doesn't associate a filetype doesn't mean it won't burn it.
Images today are a lot friendlier than they were even 3-4 years ago, much more universal.
It used to be that you needed CDRWIN and Nero and Alcohol 120%, and maybe cloneCD if you wanted to be sure you could burn something. CRDWIN used to be the only choice for .bin files w/ no .cue, but....times have changed.
As for burning backups for ps2 and xbox, I've burned every backup I have w/ default settings (except for rom dvd's, they require special settings) at maximum speed, something generally regarded as a bad idea...and never burnt a Coaster.
The Nero 7 package is worth its weight in gold, especially if you're seriously into backing up/restoring data. Nero Recode is probably one of the most underrated programs I've ever encountered, as is Nero Vision Express. AnyDVD+Nero 7=your keys to the future.

Just to add something a little off topic, get rid of Bitlord as it is full of spyware and adware. Switch to Utorrent or Bitcomet. ;)

Dan,
True, but I dont think this guy is using a private tracker anyways. Regardless, i do recommend Utorrent over BC and Azareus for speed and reliability (and use on all private trackers) ;)

I did not mean to say that Nero CAN NOT burn his files. I was just trying to see what software he had installed before he downloaded the huge Nero trial software. And like I said before there is more to burning a game then just throwing into your favorite app. and crossing your fingers. I do agree with you though on the value of Nero. I am the proud owner of Version 6 and havent even thought about getting Version 7 until it comes out with some outstanding new feature. On the topic of burning games if he downloaded it he will have to "fix" the game and theres another reason I asked him what software he had.

hey guys i got another problem with true crime after i installed it i started up the game but a message poped up and said it had some kind of problem so i click for more information about this problem it had something to do about the DLL d3d8.dll, so then i updated my video drive and reinstalled windows xp service pack 2 again just in case but when i started it up it went through same ads and stuff u know and then it went to a page with some information about true crime like copyrights and stuff after that the page goes blue and then goes black and u can only see the start up menu for the game for a few seconds and then it fads and contuinues to change colours from black to white and grey.If i click around i can start up the game and hear the sounds from the game but the page is still changing colours.

I dont know for sure but it sounds like your videocard doesn't support it. I bought FEAR and had the same problem. I could hear the sounds but I couldnt see the game. LOL, what a horrible mistake buying a game that doesnt support your videocard!! But at least I then had a excuse to get a videocard right? lol
