so i was playing guitar hero and tomb radier legend imports (not bad media) they always used to work.
so this morning i start it up, put in guitar hero, load (swap magic 3.6 btw) and it returns to the browser shortly, then says its not a ps2 format disc.
what's wrong?
i decided to see if swap magic dvd version was fuxx0red up, so i tried the cd version with a cd game (ico) which always used to work as well. same thing happened.
forgot to mention: normal non backup games still work so it cant be the lser can it
im using the slide card and i have a version 8 ps2 or something around there, but that must be insignficant cause it USED to work
Clean the Swap Magic disc with a tissue and rubbing alcohol.
Also,completely shut off the console then turn it back on.(I had to do this when I accidently loaded SM twice and it kept returning me to the browser screen.)
It may not make much sense,but it has fixed this problem(and other similar SM problems) for me.

ive just imported a game from japan and i dnt want to get my PS2 chipped so i was just woundering what was the best software to use to play this?
Also my PS2 is SCPH-50003 which i think is version 10 and i've red about the removing the front cover for like swap magic and that but my PS2 does'ent have the screws on the back of the disc tray that all the guides talk about!
my PS2 is the PAL version, as i live in england

Erm.. I have a SCPH-50003 and took it to pieces no problem, there are two screws on the dvd drive cover, undo them pull it off (dont break the clips) and your there, take out the white magnetic circle too, posting emails is not allowed, also why not stick around? Plus, others may need this info too, also why did you hijack his thread?
silent19 i definitely recommend swap magic 3.8 (coder) although im pissed off cause i just bought 3.6 and there was no news of an upcoming version
dont worry it worked again btw :)
for no reason.... just like sometimes before i got swap magic normal games sometimes had these read problems, left them for 2 hours and it worked again, just like in this case.
