I have that exact same computer sitting in our basement.

Any beep codes at startup? Or is it just quiet?

If it turns on and the fans run but nothing happens, the CPU isn't powering up, so either it's gone wrong or it isn't getting enough power. Have you plugged anything else in recently?

Erm well there's definitely some issue with the CPU or the board. It may be worthwhile changing both (i.e. new socket and hence mobo) (I'm fixing my sig now with reasonable size images, sorry it comes up so big)

I'm now limiting myself to one copy of my sig per page, it's less intrusive.

a friend of mine told me that i should change over to a socket 939 (64Bit) Micro Atx motherboard but my only problem with that is that im not sure if my memory would fit in there it says its ddr but the ddr i have is 2700 and 2100 do you know anything about these boards?

They should allow 2100 and 2700 memory, but you have to check with the compatitibility first. 939 is a very good idea, but go ATX not microATX assuming you can fit one in, they're much better boards.
