problem burning Hostel

ive been using dvd decrypter then dvd shrink to burn movies for a while now. I am having a problem burning the movie "hostel". has anyone had this problem?? im pretty sure it snot the disc becuase ive been having problems with several dvd's lately

This is a lion's gate movie with problematic encryption-and I couldn't get DVD Shrink to analyze it. You probably got a Invallid navigation error,which I got earlier today.
I enabled AnyDVD in the background to help DVD Shrink rip it.
Voblanker will also work,but not sure how you blank out the bad vobs due to the newer encryption. There should be several threads about this title already.

Did this 1 with clone dvd & AnyDVD..burned at 8x on a Verbatim DVD-R...plays flawlessly.

Very Easily backed up with latest AnyDVD & CloneDVD 2. This one has Arccoss & Puppetlock and more. However, easy with this Combo.

is AnyDVD the only thing that will work? i downloaded it a few weeks and get rid of it. why? i m a fool. now when download it and go to use it it says trial period over, please help

Everyone should have anydvd, its updated usually weekly (sometimes more...) you can use it with any dvd software (clonedvd is great though) and it gives the option of jumping directly to the title menu (or main movie)
Theres really no need for step by step, just turn anydvd on, then you can use clonedvd
matrix infiniy modded ps2 (broken, burnt out PS1 fuse)
xbox(freshly softmodded with krazies)xbmc dash. Stock HDD.
www.norcalmods.com did my ps2 mod, cheap n fast:)

I have problem, I burned it to my hard drive with dvdfab decryptor the whole dvd, it reads over 3 gigs in the folder. I tried loading the files with Nero recode and DVD Shrink, after it loads the files it seems to be only pickingup previews and extras, not the whole 3 gigs. Its not getting the main movie even though it seems the main movie is in the folder. Whats going on?

I tried DVD Decrypter with AnyDVD enabled and it bailed out on me with some strange error near the end on a small file. I tried compressing it after anyway with DVD2One but it crapped out on me half way through.
So... with AnyDVD still enabled I used DVDShrink and it seems to have worked fine. Hope this helps.

It should be no problem making a back up for this one. If you have the latest versions of CloneDVD and AnyDVD, it should work. For some reason though the CloneDVD amd AnyDVD combo doesn't work for some. Personally I think it has to do with the type of drive and the arrcos protection on Sony dics. No need for alarm though. Just be sure you have the latest version of DVDfab decrypter, and use it to download it to your hard drive and then burn with Nero. Very simple. No need to use vobblanker, pgcedit, or fixvts as fab removes the bad sector protection. Disc should play flawlessly.

I have yet to see a movie that AnyDVD & CloneDVD 2 can not back up flawlessly. Period. I have backed up the latest problematic Sony ones too. None have had a problem using this combination.

Here is a fix for the full-screen version for those that have problems:

All you need is DVD Decrypter and something to unzip. Follow the directions in the included Readme. Here is a copy of what I fixed:

Like everyone said here, any of those programs in their updated version WILL WORK. @jaguar will that work with the w.s. version (why do people buy fullscreen anyway? you lose a good portion of the picture).
and i dont know why you would need the newest version of CloneDVD, since it doesnt really do anything, AnyDVD handles all the dirty work, it just does the copying. you should do fine with an old version of CloneDVD-it doesnt even handle encrypted dvd's by itself, why would it be able to handle copy protections and such?

If you own the Original you should be able to legally make a BACKUP no matter what anyone says...
We are talking about Legal backups (YES I Know Technically there isn't such a thing is some countries) but still we aren't hear to give info on how to backup a copy you rented borrowed etc etc....
We are here for those that OWN the originals

because downloading from the slysoft website is alot easier...
point being.. Do what you want just don't mention it here....
if you would've just said I d/l'd the newest ver of AnyDVD and now I'm not having a problem.. No one would be hounding you about where ya got it...
it's like those that say.
I got the new Hostel Movie from Blockbuster and I need to back it up can you help me...
Instead of just saying I need help backing up Hostel...

i personally recomend AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 - i dont use anything other than them for backing up my DVD's
one of the only things ive bought

I was not the one that bought it and it was too late to return it... When I actually go out and purchase something, I always get the Widescreen version. To everyone else, everything is the same. I might find the WS later on for $5 or less then I can have both.
I am not sure if this will work with the WS version. The reason being that you cannot "replace" the Title in PGCEdit (You would basically import the ARccOS). You can try it out though... Follow the directions and launch PGCEdit. It might fix it so that it works...
If it does not detect a problem, double click on Title 1. If it still does not detect anything, check to see if the settings are correct by looking in Domain Stream attributes. You will see a box to click on in the lower left corner after you double click on the title in PGCEdit.
However, you can follow my ARccOS guide:

The ARccOS went down a notch, so not all the steps are needed. You will need to leave only the last 2 cells of chapter 1.
Then when you fix with IFOEdit, use "strip VOB IDs". Keep only VobID 2. Then you are finished. Fix VTS is not needed for this movie.
If you download a guide, I recommend the "Zorro" guide that is posted on the thread because it is more updated. You can ignore the "Advanced" section of the guide.
The only difference between my guide and what I posted is that the guide will give you a result equal to AnyDVD, but the fix will do the extra stuff I said. Either way the movie will work!!
Also, do not forget about the PSL approach and Alkohol's guide with DVDFab and VobBlanker.
