I'm not sure if I am getting this right but I need help with the Verbatim disks, I have read that to play backup PS2 games, the best quality is with the MCC, and to get the 4x or 8x DVD-Rs. I am having trouble finding these in small quantitys to see if they work on my V9 PS2. The disks I am able to find are disks with CMC but I am a bit unsure whether to get these.
Don't know if this is correct but by looking pictures of another type of Verbatim disks the pictures of the disks have AZO on the packaging, I am just wondering whether these disks with the AZO or the CMC will work with PS2 backups.

Thank you for your help.

MCC or Azo would be your best bet
and a good brand like Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden in 8X DVD-R

What brand are the CMC DVD's you can get?
are they made in Japan?

The two i listed are the best type, but i have used the same CMC discs for years and have not had one problem. I surely never advise people to do this, but i can only tell you that what i have has worked for me for about 2yrs now. Philips 8X DVD-R

Khymdedia 4x CMCs work great for me PS2 back ups. The 8x ones work ok too, but the 4x work better. For some reason Khypermedia CMC work better for me than other brands.

Stay away from the CMC MAG stuff,it is terrible for your laser.

Try and get some Taiyo Yudens if you can,its the best media out there.(Verbatim is great to)
