Well i know the question must have been asked before, but the problem is driving me mad, so im hoping some nice chap might be able to solve it for me. I have one DVD that copied a movie ok using Nero, which i have done several times before, this just wont open on any DVD player, nor can it be read by the DVD writer in my computer. The second DVD was recorded on a DVD Recorder, but refused to be finalized, also wont open on either Recorder or Computer. Is there some software available that can recover my Films, and relive my frustation. Thank you in advance.
Bobby.

Have you tried ISOBuster?

www.isobuster.com

Here's some other suggestions.

If a copied DVD isn't readable in other players, it may be due to any number of factors including but not limited to:
1. poor quality recording media.
2. burning at too fast a speed for the media.
3. out of date burner firmware.
4. out of date software.

Also I would only use RW media with a standalone dvd recorder. Finalized +R or -R media from these recorders are sometimes not recognized. I learned the hard way to use RW media and then to burn a copy from the RW media to +R or -R media if that was my want.

Repost with the brand and speed of media you're using, the make and model of your burner, the software version, and the firmware version of your burner and someone will help you sort it out.

Thank you for your reply. You are right about the media, it was too cheap. The burner also was not up to standard. Since I made that copy I have upgraded everything so it won?t happen again. The only thing is that the film on the first DVD is not replaceable, nor is the one made on the DVD Recorder. I have tried ISO Buster but it was the demo version, so I could not save the files it found. Might there be similar software available that I don?t have to purchase, or should I buy the full version of ISO buster.
Regards, Bobby.

I'm not aware of any freeware recovery programs unfortunately.
