Hey all, i recently brought a dell PowerEdge SC430 server. I got it because i needed a new faster, cooler, and better computer(or server i should say). I have one at my work office too, so i know how it works. Well anwyays, i bought a 16x ASUS GeForce N6600 256MB 128-bit DDR video card from newegg.com because the video card that comes with the server is cheap and sucks. I wanted a better video card so that i could play some of my video games on it(counter-strike,maplestory,half-life). I know that the video
card that comes with the server isnt able to run high grpahics games. When i try to, it crashes and lags. I am very sure that my settings are all correct and my configuration are right. So,
when i opened up my PC to put in the new card i got , there was no 16x slot for it. Apparently dell purposely did this to prevent anyone from play games on it, since servers are used mainly for businness. BUT there is a 8x slot on it. This guy here modded the 8x into 16x but im too afraid something will get messed up to try it http://www.tkdan.com.nyud.net:8090/SC420/

Now im stuck with this card not knowing what to do. I heard that there is a "converter" or adapter to make it from 16x to 8x or sometinhg. I really need a resolution to this. I dont wanna return it back b/c ive already opened the box and i tihnk the return policy is over. Is there any way i can use the 16x video card on the server? im open to any ideas, thanks a bunch.
