Hi I hope it isn't considered bad form to make ones first post with a new thread if so I apologise.

I've been trying to make a backup of suikoden 5 (using both rips from the original and downloaded ISOs) to play correctly , as of yet no DVD I've produced has loaded whatsoever(blank screen) and I can hear the DVD stuttering as one might expect with a bad laser or poor media.

I'm using Swap Magic (Coder) 3.8 (my system is originally PAL)
I'm burning with DVD Decrypter at 4x
My media is Taiyo Yuden 8x (TYG02) DVD-R
I'm burning on an LG GSA-4160B

I've used this set up (including DVD-Rs on the same spindle) to burn quite a few other games perfectly successful(no skipping or lag whatsoever).

I searched these forums for a solution the only hopeful thread was solved via the use of DVD+R media instead of DVD-R supposedly (I created a new thread as the previous one was solved). Is such a switch really likely to be the necessary solution? Has anyone succeeded in burning this game successfully with DVD-R media?

Any help people can offer would be much appreciated as its a bit of a pain for me to get hold of quality media so I'd rather exhaust all options before I plump for a spindle of +Rs for an experiment.

Thankyou in advance.

I had been burning with a few programs in the background (nothing serious and they'd never given problems before) but I just tested it with absolutely everything down , still no dice unfortunately.

try this. the steps i used were
1. DVD Decrypter, decrypt in iso mode
2. open iso in apache
3. open cdvdgen move the iso files into the project and export the iml
4. open isotoiml, browse to the iml file, then run the program, it will rebuild the iso
5. burn the iso in Nero on iso\udf mode, probably udf mode.

if i am vague or you still need help, post, it's been a while since i backed mine up.
