There is no "best" OS for BT.
And whoever told you xp blocks connections doesn't know what he's talking about.

Service Pack 2 limits your connections.
Service Pack 2 is crap. There are plenty of patches to fix it, and there's even a fresh post w/ a downloadable registry hack to fix it for you.
You want the best speeds? KK, install debian, or maybe redhat server linux install. Run the BitTornado command line client and give the process real time permissions. Then, have it generate RSS feeds that post to the public_html directory on your apache server, so that you can log in from anywhere on the web to view the status of your downloads.
Or, you could just run Azureus on your windows pc, and do the same thing.

Ok, i forgot about that SP2 problem (i patched the fix into my slipstream windows instal cd ages ago) so i hadn't considered that...
But i think that moving to a linux server just to be able to download more would be a bit much, especially if you consider that most windows users will have quite a lot of adjusting to do before they can work with debian as easily as with windows...
Just my 2 cents though.

Yes you would have to download he ISO burn it go throught the whole process....sometimes certaint hardware incompatibilites will keep you from getitng the full effect of the linux flavor......I have had too learn alot about linux to get used to it......I am still trying out different flavors..Infact i have to F**ckin reinstall Ubuntu because The DAPPER DRAKE BETA F'ED up my system
But just use the JAVA based Azureus
Or if you go into ADD/Remove Programs you could uninstall service pack 2(but it would leave a major security whole into your system)

Lol @ fiend...
I was being sarcastic.
And, for the record, there is no "major security hole" if you don't run sp2, but it is recommended for people who don't know what they're doing.
IMO it breaks as much as it fixes for power users.

OOps sorry i meant security whole...I know that it won't be major but the whole reason they updated it from service pack 1 to 2 is because they have improved their security alot
