The Godfather y-fix

I've got a problem. I use Swap Magic 3.6, and I have the Dagger release of the Godfather (PAL). When trying to play, however, most scenes are cut off at the bottom, something a PAL2NTSC y-fix should fix, right? Well, when I use the Fix and then burn the "fixed" copy to a DVD, all that loads is a black screen.

My media (Imation, manufacturer "OPTODISC") is not the greatest, but would this totally prevent game play with a Y-Fix?

I am a complete newbie to PS2 backups, so I might have missed something quite obvious. I've tried burning the release as is, and I've also tied rebuilding the DVD, both of which give me the same results--it works without the Y-fix, but the bottom is cut off, and it does not work at all with the Y-Fix.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm also having the same problem wih NFS:MW. Someone told me I need a new television, or sometype of converter. But let's wait and see if there is actually a way to fix this problem.

I never had any luck with these patchers.

I just use the SM 3.6 video mode feature and it works fine.


ok, so theres a black line at the bottom but it doesnt really bother me, you kind of ignore it after a short while.

P.S ive only used it with MGS3

Ahh, I see.
But this kind of problem can't be fixed using the video mode feature on the SM 3.6.
