Hey Everyone,
the title pretty much sums up my problem. i recently got an 8MB connection and i have tried downloading through Limewire, BitComet and uTorrent with very slow downloads with all of them. i have read the guides for torrent stuff just to be sure i wasnt forgetting something, but my downloads are still slower than when i had a 1.5MB connection! Anyone have anysuggestions? ive pretty much given up on limewire, but i think there may be hope with some torrent programs as they are going the fastest at 150kb/s. i have no router and have turned off the windows firewall and dont have any other firewalls. is there anything im missing? when i download from a website i get around 1000kb/s which i would be extremely happy with if it transfered to my P2P programs with that speed. Thank you in advance for any help

See http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/335359 for P2P header encryption via Azureus... yet, I don't know whether it would help you alot, a little, or not at all, since your speeds are WAY faster than mine. I mean, WOW, I wish I could say things that insinuate that 150kb/s was relatively slow for me. If your new ISP throttles bittorrent to a fraction, the above WILL help.

I would think you already know about the half-connection limit of XP, if you are using it, and the patch available to gut it. If you have XP, and have not patched, go get it.

Also, you must realize you can only go as fast as whoever is on the other end. Therefore, if all the peeps combined only make 150kb/s, that is what you are going to get. If only Rogers was that fast....

Hope the above actually helps.
