Ok... recently I discovered a new method to pc burn games and DVD's that have protection. This method is simple and easy and it works.
You might want to download DVD Shrink just incase the file size of a DVD is too big(cant shrink pc games.)And since you cant watch some movies on your computer due to the protection, I will later provide the name of a free dvd player software allowing you to watch everything.

Burning DVD'S

1)After you insert your DVD disc, open up My Computer.

2)Look for the drive where your dvd is and click explore.

3)Once you've clicked explore you will see two folders, copy them onto your desktop.

4)If the size of the DVD is more the 4.20 gigs, you should use DVD Shrink and bring it down to 4 gigs so it wont decrease the picture quality.

5)Once done shrinking, use any burnig software to burn your DVD and your done!

Burning PC Game's

1)After you insert your PC Game , open up My Computer.

2)Look for the drive where your game is and click explore.

3)Once you've clicked explore you will see the game folder or a bunch of other stuff. Copy them onto your desktop.

4)Once done copying the files, use any burnig software to burn your game and your done!

For some reason, if you use this method the protection doesn't stop you. If you have any questions I will be happy to help you and I will post the name of the dvd player software.

I believe you are just copying the protection along with the files.

If you are using DVD Shrink, it is possible that it is removing some protection as it shrinks...

Can someone clarify whether this actually works with pc games or not?

Will it make an exact copy of a disc for me or not?

I agree, you are not copying css protected dvd's, I just don't see it working with css copyrighted discs, no way.

No no, i don't have a problem with copying the protection along with the files, as long as i have a working backup i couldn't give a crap if the backups protected or not.

@stillcold, does this mean that if I lent my backup copy to friends, they would not be able to copy/burn my backup copy?

They could, they could just use this same method or use any normal protection bypassing programs.

The title of this thread is deceiving since you are using programs to do the job, i.e. Shrink and Nero. Yes you can drag and drop your file in explorer but you will get the protection along with it. Shrink is breaking the protection on the file. As for backups anyone can copy them because there is no longer any protection. If this was the answer why would there be so many programs to break encryption, and why are there so many people using this program trying to find out how to backup a DVD?

I don't know, because people don't want the pretection on their backups?

you just said yourself you could drag and drop the files with explorer. He was just trying to help i think. I used to wonder about this because it would be an EXACT replica of the disc.

Why do people want the pretection off their backups, arnie?

So people spend$$$'s on protection bypassing one click transcoding tool programs, so they dont have to use it after they have copied a disc once.

STRANGE!!
Lol
