I just got my ps2 to run swap magic and boot backup and burned games, but theres a problem. The games are in black and white, the lower 1/4th runs off the bottom of the screen, and it is distorted in the lower right corner... Also, its very choppy on cutscenes and it loads really slowly... any idea whats going wrong?

thanks in advanced :)

Not sure about the black and white.
But choppy slow loading is usually the media.
You really need good media foe backup games, Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim.
Ritek etc... are good for films/data not for ps2 games.

it could be beacuse the games are for a different region than your ps2 is, I.E pal/ntsc.

also you could be using bad media if its skipping.

theres an option in swap magic 3.6 to choose your video mode... that works for my games that are for different regions.

The region does sound likely for the problem.
getting better media for when you get that problem sorted is only going to help in the future anyway.

Okay... i got better dvds and now it loads faster and it isnt choppy on cutscenes, and i changed the region to NTSC or whatever so its in color now... HOWEVER, the lower part of the screen is still below what you can see... so... any clue on why that is? :) and thanks for your help thus far :)

There's not much you can do if it's not displaying some of the picture because of wrong region, it's just that NTSC and PAL use a different number of horizontal lines.. so I'm guessing that yours is PAL and you're playing a NTSC game, that's why some of the screen is "cut-off".. PAL TV simply doesn't have enough horizontal lines to display the whole screen.. unless you get a modchip that'll compensate for it the same way a DVD player will play region 1 DVD on PAL TV.. depending on the modchip though.
You could try patching Y-fix and see if that helps any.. otherwise get a different copy of the game or put up with it how it is.

On the original disc it'll usually say somewhere.. something like sony entertainment europe etc.. and on an iso, if you look with iso buster or another program that lets you view the files it'll have the product ident number something like SCES, SCUS etc.. if it ends in US it's NTSC and if it ends in ES it's PAL.
