I burnt some tv episodes onto a DVD using nero vision with the instructions on this site, it worked just fine on my dvd player, now I am trying to make a copy of the dvd I made using nero vision and nero burning rom gave me the following errors:
It says the disk is unreadable even though it works on my dvd player.
Any help will be appreciated , thank you very much.

First let's edit out the serial # - begins w/ 1C. Don't need someone else using it!
The 'unrecoverable read errors' are saying that your drive doesn't like the source disc. It could be dirty,smudged or scratched. Try cleaning it off. Ripping is more sensitive to picking up 'bad spots' where as the player may just pass over them.

Turn DMA back on. Now you have nvidia drivers which may make this a little trickier. Here a guide - a few pages in another member posted what worked for them w/ nvidia.

Ty for the reply binkie, I tried cleaning the media before posting but it didnt help, the disks are 16x dvd-r verbatim, also the guide to turn on dma , it has all the pics missing so I cant see anything, is it possible to link me to another guide, am just trying to update firmaware now, thnx.


Also how did you know my drivers were nvidia, I only istalled the dvd writer yesterday and I didnt choose any driver?

In device manager it says both drivers are microsoft :S

In the line with the drives you'll see this nvatabus.
Nvidia drivers can also be found in the 'add or remove program'.
Depending on your internet speed you may need to give the page a few minutes to load.

If the option is greyed out that's means it not available - like using one drive to read and write.
Your should have the source disc in one drive-picked as the reader and another drive picked to write too then the option is displayed.

What one drive may not read another might. Did you get the drives back in DMA mode? Big difference speed wise.

Did you try uinstalling the nvidia drivers from add/remove programs - reboot and let windows reinstall it's drivers?
If the drives are back in DMA mode you will notice a difference speed.
Any difference?

Check your last Nero log after your tried to turn DMA back on.
Look at the drives listed under this part of the log:
=== Scsi-Device-Map ===
See if this now has DMA: ON next to the drives - except for the last 2 which are virtual drives.
Being in DMA mode will cut down the cpu usage and speed things up - shouldn't have a reverse affect.

I did and it now says dma on , but , before to burn a dvd - r at 16x it used to take me like 5 minutes but after uninstalling the nvidia drivers , it took me like 15

hmmm that sounds like Nero isn't allowing the disc to be burned at 16x.
It does a test along with the burner to determine the max burn speed.
The speed that is determined is the max it will burn at.
You might also want to cut it down to 8x (10 mins) - the higher the burn can increase the chances of errors and/or playback issues.
