Hello again,
THANKS AGAIN for all your help in the past *&* now. I just put neo on this comuter *&* for some reason it's not finding my burner when it's time to burn on the last screen for burning DVD movies. All I have showing in the drop down menu is, image ready *&* hard drive folder. Can ANYONE HELP me figure out why??

Basically what it means is that your firmware for your burner needs updating so it will be able to recognize the latest media(discs) etc. The firmware update is available at link provided, as stated you need PSX3, which is the latest.
If that link doesnt work then go to liteon site and do a search and download from there. Once you d/l you will have to re boot comp for it to take effect.

Yet I do not see that PSX3, or SlimtypeDVDRW SOSW-852S link, so I'm really LOST looking at all those links, which NONE look like the one you wanted me to get.
It's really strange on how the cyberlink DVD *&* Producer sees the D:/ drive, yet when I get to the burn screen with NEO it dose not. I think there is a setting wrong or something. Then again like I said before I'm NO techie.

From the Qupte you posted, it really seems like you can see my trouble. Although Let me just make sure *&* run down everything I do to get to the burn state.
First I strip a DVD with DVDFab express *&* from there I open nero smart start, when it opens I choose the RECODE *&* transfur the DVD files over. From there once done, I choose next. This is where you choose the amount of copies *&* the burn at once *&* so fourth, at the very top it has two drop downs, one for the imageready, hard drive *&* most times on my other comuter my D:/ drive shows. On this computer it's showing only image recorder *&* hard disk folder, there is NO D:/ drive showing. With all updates *&* firmware now on, still nothing.

Ok tinkering around I think I found the trouble. This Nero is supported only with the SONY dvd burners. Ahhhhhhhhkkkkk!!!!

Perhaps you mean that you have OEM Nero bundled w/ new Sony burners , Nero is not designed for any specific burner in mind ... but all of them [well as many as known about when updating].

Sorry about the link - haven't checked it in awhile!
Like Herbsman said Nero is not designed just for Sony. If it was I'd be sol.
The Nero InfoTool does pick up your drive on the secondary ide set as the master. Why Recode is not picking it up I don't know. I replaced drives and haven't ran into this.
You might want to try uninstalling the drive from device manager and rebooting letting Windows reinstall. But may not help.
Does your drive show up in any of Nero's apps like burning rom or express?
