If I wanted to test this method out (http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/3/275350) for reducing the size of a DVD5 to a smaller DVD5 just to see if it would work with a DVD9 to DVD5, should it theoretically work? The reason I ask is because I dont have a DVD9 game to backup but when I try to go through the process with a game that was already DVD5 (4.3 GB) it reduces to 2.2 GB but it wont play after I burn it. Should it work or not? Thanks.

It's just considered "rebuilding", so yes it would work. You might run in to some cases where you have a DVD5 game, but need to reduce the size, in order to play it. This applies more to Swap Magic users.

What is the game you are trying this with? What mod are you using? What media did you use and at what burn speed?

I'm using Ritek media with a 4x burn. I follow step by step instructions and everything looks right until I put it in my ps2. The Playstation 2 logo will appear but then the game wont boot.
