Hi,

Is there a method or software to enhance the quality of an mp3 (kbps)?

Right now I have an mp3 that is at 100kbps, but I would like to enhance it to 128 or 192.

Any ideas? Thnx.

once you have a heavily compressed file, resampling it at a higher bitrate will do nothing to improve the quality, in fact it will make it worse. Any time you convert a lossy format to another lossy format, there is significant quality loss. As the saying goes, you can't make chicken soup from chicken sh*t. So there's really no way to improve the quality of a low bitrate file, unless you can download or find a new version at a higher bitrate.

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:
