Hello all,
I need some help from any of you who care about DEFINITIVE information on the PS2.
I have long been trying to keep track of exactly which few PS2 games were released on DVD-9 media (about 15) as well as which were released on the blue CD-ROM media (over 150!). I have collected game media lists from this forum and many others and found major inconsistencies and errors as well as differing lists being repeatedly posted to the same forum because none of the lists were made sticky.
I went through my massive game collection and trusted info I had found online and added about 40 games (and a few deletions) to that CD list so it currently appears to be the BEST list of PS2 CD games anywhere on the net...
This motivated me to create a new list dedicated to DVD-9 (dual layer) PS2 games. With over 80% of games on single layer DVD media, no list is necessary for DVD-5. A list for DVD-9, HOWEVER, is VERY useful since very few games use this format and the DVD-9 format not only can give read errors on many PS2's, but is also difficult to reproduce, dump to hard drive, or use with many utilities. Game media info is never given by Sony or game companies...
Here is the page I made compiling the PS2 DVD-9 games:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_2_DVD-9_games (Feel free to edit, improve, delete anything u think would improve the page, i have heard someone mention Midnight Club 3 DUB Remix is DVD-9 but am not sure...)
OK, SO HERE IS THE IMPORTANT PART! After making the DVD-9 list, some arrogant Wikipedia elitists flagged the list for deletion. THEY CAN'T SEE WHO COULD EVER WANT THIS INFORMATION. They think it is useless information. They have designated themselves arbiters of everything though they probably don't give a damn about the PS2 or modding or any other thing.
Just post your desire to KEEP the list. If you choose to help out my cause of creating a SINGLE UNIFIED LIST of PS2 game information, please comment VERY POLITELY on why the list should not be deleted. Make NO MENTION OF PIRACY, but state you find the information useful, and if you like, give a reason why you consider it useful! Comments from long time WIkipedia users are given more weight. Anonymous user comments are given very little weight...
With dozens of forums for PS2 games/copying/modding/hacking and all holding multiple erroneous lists, don't you think it's time we committed some of our knowledge to a central repository like Wikipedia? Please support the cause of keeping these two lists on Wikipedia!
