I bought a audio cd - it list 14 tracks on the back, but only 12 show on the cd. Help! TIA

Is this a true CD-DA disc, or an "Enhanced" disc?
There are an increasing number of CD-ROM masquerading as CD-DA.
These usually have some half-baked attempt at copy protection and additionally can contain Quicktime or WMV video clips as well.
If this is one of those, then the 2 missing tracks will only be accessibl;e on a computer drive - but be very careful & make sure autorun is disabled before inserting these discs.
Failure to do this will possibly result in nasties being installed to your system - without your permission.
SonyBMG are very big on this.

The cd is not enhanced, as far as I can tell. It is a CDA cd. It is not a SonyBMG cd. Nero, ECA only sees 12 tracks. My dvd (NEC 3550A) is brand new. Running XP Pro. I disabled autorun.

If EAC is only seeing 12 tracks, then there are likely as not only 12 tracks on it!
Can you please tell me what the CD is - this has aroused my interest.
SonyBMG are not the only ones putting out copy protected discs.

What dooes Windows Media Player see?
Does it retrieve the data from the internet when you launch it and open up the CD?
Does EAC retrieve the details from the internet?
What does it say?

the cd is Smokey Town singers - Rock -N Minnesota Live at Prairie Island 2003 Rez Cue Records (www.creativenativemusic.com) Window medica player sees 12 tracks, when first loaded in does not have trac info - then the info shows up. Tell it to update trac info - does not find. EAC does the same thing.

I'm not managing to find this album online anywhere.
Do you have a link?
What I am trying to find out is exactly what the cover says - it's odd.
EAC & WMP only showing 12 tracks says there is only 12 tracks on it.

What can you see if you load the CD into a computer drive and look at it in Windows Explorer?
If you see a series of files at 1Kb all called (whatever).cda then it is a regular CD-DA disc. If you see anything else, it is a CD-ROM.
Can you let me know what you see if you open the disc in an explorer window please?

I bought the cd off ebay. it came in orignal wrap. when i look at it with windows explorer it shows 12 cd audio tracks - 1kb. i have a jpg of the cover. How can I get that to you?

If it is showing 12 audio tracks in explorer, at 1kb, then there are only 12 tracks on it for certain.
The back cover is wrong - simple.
If there were any more then this would be visible in explorer - unless 2 of the tracks are hidden. If this is the case, they will be accessible only by playing the disc - or ripping it & reburning with additional track markers..
Are there any tracks that are too long - when you access the disc in Media Player, for example - are any of them showing what looks to be an excessive duration/running time?
If not, then it has to be a misprint on the cover.

there are 2 tracks that are 7 minutes (#2 & #4)and one theat is 10 minutes long (using windows media player.

Hmm.
Would any of these count as an additional track, maybe?
Explorer is definitely saying there are only 12 tracks on it - so unless the other 2 are hidden in there somewhere - and ripping the whole disc to WAV files and examining them - or playing the disc all the way through & counting - is the only way to find a hidden track on a CD.
