sony DVP-NS55P region code help?

I want to play an region 5 dvd({from India) in a sony DVP-NS55P dvd player. Does anyone know how to change the dvd region code so that i can play it in the region code 1(US).

Any luck on this subject? I always heard that Sony is one of the most difficult brands to unlock...

I have the same problem and looked at www.videohelp.com but they do not have the unlocking instructions for the DVP-NS55P. I want to play region 4. Hoping I will get a reply one of these days :)

i went to a site about dvd codes and unlocks. At http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/2/128838.html, it said "For everyone that keeps posting asking for codes for JVC, SONY, PANASONIC, and PIONEER - there are none!

You can only hack them with a special device or disc, depending on the model. " I guess theres no way to do this w/o too much work.
