can any one help. just built computer went to first screen and NTLD IS MISSING PRESS CTRL=ALT=DEL TO RESTART.this is my first computer build. many thank

rosylyn, did you have xp on that hd from another computer because if did than possibly that is why you have that error. if was a fresh install than check this link. http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000465.htm

PS: NTLDR IS MISSING PRESS CTRL=ALT=DEL TO RESTART
Means: U've connected wrong drive to the right IDE/SATA channel.

b0ba, not always as the hd can boot whether jumpered master or slave or on primary or secondary ide port.

the hard drive is a western digital sata . no os has been put on yet only just finished building it yesterday. then error came up. hard was brought as new.

than that is the cause of the error is no os even when hd is & isn't hooked up to motherboard.

hi. we tried to put os on it but it jsut had that error again. how do we get past error so we can put software . thanks for help.

did you partition & format the drive before installing windows?

not formatted or installed anything yet, we have just finshished building pc. then turned on power and had the error message so we need help how to solve that and what to do next. thanks.
