Ok im building a pc for my friend. I have been look for parts for so time now. Im going to get him AMD Athlon 64 3800 and here lies the problem. The cpu says it has a 2000MHz bus but i cant find a motherboard that goes that high. All the ones i find only go have a 1000MHz Front side bus. So r there boards that support 2000MHz speeds.

It has a 1000MHz bus x2 due to the DDR Memory.
Most boards using the 939 pins CPUs have a 2000/1600 HT bus speed.
A 1000 HT speed setting in the BIOS equates to an effective clock of 2000MHz.
So that is the correct setting you are looking for in a board, the speed at which the CPU communicates to the chipset.

No it not a dual core. I talked to some people at fry's (it a store) and they say (i dont know if its right) AMD came up with HyperTransport. The northbrige is like built on the cpu and this makes it alot faster. The northbrige on the Motherboard is not used. Only AMD has this. The motherboard has to support it. Thanks.

You'd need to look up some comparisons for the various cpus you're thinking of getting.
Personally I leave Intel alone as they seem too slow when actually using them compared to AMDs.
