I bought UMD Movie FF7:AC and when I ran the UMD it shows me

"To play, you must update the system software" my psp is 1.5 and I don't want to update it to 2.6. Is there any type of program that bypasses this check?

You can't watch it without updating to 2.6. You could buy the DVD version and rip it to your memory stick, though.

You dont need to dump it. Try using RunUMD (download it from here: http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/404 ). Just insert the UMD and start RunUMD and you should be able to play your UMD.

I tried using RUNUMD it shutdowns the psp after couple of seconds. This is how I did it.

I pressed O to extract the system files from UMD and then pressed X to Run UMD, and then it shutdown. Then I tried again loaded the RUNUMD and pressed X it showed me a busy sign on MS and after 15 seconds it shutdown.

Try downloading the x folder from here: http://eternal-psp.vze.com/dl.htm

Extract it to the root of your memory stick (to Drive Letter of PSP:\X\)

Then try starting RunUMD and pressing X (not O).

I have the Original DVD and UMD for FF7:AC. I am a FF fan, and I bought both of them. I know I can run it if I rip the ISO for the DVD and use PSP 9 to convert it. I want to run the UMD on my PSP.

Any way to do that?

I used spiderman 2 yesterday and it worked fine!
To rip the umd:

1)Open fastloader and select dump umd
2)It will say 'erasing flash! just a joke' then just wait for it to dump
3)When its done get out of fastloader and open 'usb connection'
4)Navigate to the ISO folder and put .iso on the end of 'My latest dump'.
5)Fire up umd emulator and use these settings:
CPU/Bus speed: 333/166 MHz
ISO/emulation mode: System menu
Disctype iso: Video
Disctype UMD: Game(use a game all the time)
Updater icon: Remove
Use boot.bin: On
Region code override: on
next three are region free
flash0 n flash1: Off
6) select the iso, it will go back to the menu, go to video and voila!

NOTE: Settings may vary because i used the umd video spiderman 2..

I did the steps exact. But the file size of the FF7 Fastloader dump was 41mb.

What do I need to put in a UMD game or the UMD movie to run it?

These are the steps I did.

1. Load Fastloader 0.7
2. Choose - Dump Inserted UMD! -
3. Shows on screen "Erasing Flash"
4. Shows "Press X to Start Dumping (42780672 bytes) [16] "
5. Shows me decreasing number of 42780672 bytes left after that
dumping stops when reached 0 and shows me #4 again. I shutdown PSP
by holding off for 15 seconds.
6. Load up USB Connection and rename "My latest dump" to My latest dump.iso
7. I ran UMD Emulator with different settings.
Quote:

I tried jasakran's settings it didn't work. I tried flash files but
when I run the Umd from the movies section it froze my psp.

I tried changing Disctype UMD: Video. Didn't work.
I tried using game in UMD slot and actual movie. Same problem.

Jasakran what is the update icon on the spider man 2 movie? is it 2.6?
