I've just upgraded to 802.11g 108mbps router/cards (I know - about time). While I notice it is much faster over the LAN, I'm curious about something. When I look at network in task manager, it's only around 8%. How do I get it faster? I'd love 25% or higher when moving files across my network. It was the same with the old router. Oh, I have 108mbps card on sending machine and 54mbps card on receiving. So I don't expect more than 50% utilization.

BTW - I'm only talking about room to room wireless lan to move files from one machine to another. I'm not talking about internet connection as I know that's slower than the router is capable of.

Cheers to anyone who can clear this up.

Hi, The Networking tab provides an indication of the network traffic for the connections on the local computer.

It is useful as a quick reference for determining the amount of NETWORK BANDWIDTH being consumed.

Unless you have multiple machines on the network transfering files to each other, you will almost never hit 50% unless spiking.

The performance of your machines will also be a factor: The older the machine(P3)the slower Bus Speeds/Memory/Harddrive.

Dont wory about the % of bandwidth, if you are happy with the actual speeds of the connections.........All is Well
