Hey,
This has been going on for months now, first I had a pioneer drive off my dads old rig it was slow and then wouldn't burn images(ISO files) on Nero 7 same failure. Got my new NEC ND3550A 16x RW Dual Layer drive same problem I have reinstalled Nero suddenly last week it started working(great)go to burn a DVD now same error and its pissing me off wasting DVDs and time. Magic ISO pisses all over Nero atm, I can make ISO?s, extract files off them burn images the works its simple and easy it doesn?t have anywhere near the funding Nero does and yet it?s a lovely little tool. I bought Nero I expect to get my moneys worth if it carries on like this it will be the last time.

Log file I saved and uploaded here - http://rapidshare.de/files/19890435/Log.txt.html .

@Sam666
Welcome to aD!
You best bet is to copy and paste the log in your post. It makes things alot easier for us to try and help instead of downloading a file from rapidshare.

@Sam666
Here's some suggestions.
First let's edit the serial # out of the post at the top - begins w/ 5C. Don't need someone else using it!
Quote:
Nero Version: 7.0.1.4
Update to the latest Nero - 7.2.0.3b. Go to Nero ToolKit>Nero Product Setup and check 'update your Nero products'.
Quote:
Recorder: <_NEC DVD_RW ND-3550A> Version: 1.05
The latest firmware for your drive is 1.06 - update to that one:

Disc Manufacturer: TTG01
TDK is okay at best media - the media is rated at 4x - your overburning it to 8x speed. Try burning it a 4x.
With different media like Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden (instore look for made in Japan Sony or Fuji) I would burn at 8x.
Let us know how it turns out - good, bad or otherwise!
