I can't seem to figure out how to make rips that are around 350MB. All the rips that I make from my dvd'd always end up around 700MB. I just got a portable video player (Archos AV500) and it requires MPEG-4 SP format AVI's. I've downloaded some HDTV episode of shows that I missed to watch on my PVP and they are 358MB and the quality is great. The resolution on them are about 624x336, 128 bit rate, 16 bit audio sample and 23 frames per second. I set my rips to the same resolution and I end up with 700MB+ files. I'd like to keep my AVI rips to about 350-400MB so I can save space on my little machine. I've been using ImTooDVD Ripper. I've founf that it has the most flexibility in choosing my rip options. The rips take a long time, so it would take me days to try them all to see which setting works, so I thought I'd give the forum a try.

Thanks.

Well try AutoGK. rips might take a bit longer than with imtoo but itll be worth it.
