Is there any software where I can encrypt files or encrypt my highspeed connection that I have. I heard somthing about proxy that can protect your identity, ip address and location and what traffic some can intercept. Is this true and how do I learn more about these options?

That is fine. Mostly will be used when browsing and emailing. Not really when I am dowloading or uploading.
