I bought nero 7 but im unable to access my hard drive. Why doesn't nero open it up for me? The only way I can do a project is by dragging it onto nero vision. Secondly I would like to edit my menu by adding pictures without using the defaults offered by nero. But there is no way of adding anything because nero doesn't open up my documents,c:drive or anything! Is there a problem with indexing?

In NeroVision 4, start the program by selecting Make a DVD video. With the title window open you can use the add videos to open the window you are expecting.

If you are on the edit page, you can add videos by right clicking, or using the button on the bottom. The one tricky part is the button on the bottom just opens up a dialogue where you have to choose Browse, or Browse and add to project. Be careful the mouseover window does not cover it up.

As far as adding pictures to menus, it looks like if you edit the menu, choose Background and then Background picture from the top middle icon, you are now offered a Add pictures button. It opens with an "All Supported Picture Files" setting which you can change. Format may be important here, I don't know.

The add video files won't work for me. It can't access my hard drive. The only thing that opens up is a tiny window with more buttons to open.

We need to be in the same place in the program. Did you go to the area I was referring? And you have a title or two inserted to burn? Do you see it changes from Video to background color depending on which icon you select. I wish I had a screen capture capability!

Ah i see what you mean! Thanks for your help man, what i don't understand though is the window that opens up for me is quite small.
I can't really see what the file name is. I have a bunch of episodes of a project with the same name but different seasons. I downloaded the trial version before and when I wanted to add a project it would open up a large screen and i could pick from any location on my computer . So I went and bought the program and I've had nothing but problems. Well I guess this is better than opening up two screens and dragging it onto Nero vision. Thanks again man!

If you did not use a Clean tool to help uninstall the earlier version of Nero, go to the website and download the Clean tool version for your old version. Then reinstall Nero 7.

Since you have already installed version 7, you may have to run both the cleantool for version 6 and 7. Possibly something left over from the earlier install is causing problems.
