Has the annoying "error reading disk" got you down. Have you went through an entire spindle of disks trying to get it to work. Does it make you mad that it won't go past the "Sweet and Kendal" intro. Well I've been thru all that shit until I realized the size of the game disk is 4.19GB most games out there are below 4GB and most of you are using those to load San Andreas. It won't work because the disk you use is smaller than the SA disk and it won't let it read the outside of the disk causing the game to freeze up. So you need a game bigger than 4.2GB for it to work like GTA3 or GTAVC either one will work but they must be originals I believe that they were 4.3GB each so when I tried it it worked like a charm. I use Memorex DVD+R. I also use MCLoader to boot up Cogswap. Use the exploit to load cogswap then insert the original GTA3 or GTAVC then run cogswap and it should work. Also I use DVD Decrypter for the iso and it also burns it at 2.4 speed. All works fine for me I got a V9 I believe, and on those you have to adjust the small white toothes wheels to the center for it to properly play any burnt disk otherwise you get chirping and no audio. Hope it works for you.

No this is how I got it to work it doesn't matter what brand of disk I used( I have used DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, and DVD-RW)they all worked you just need to use a game with a disk size bigger than 4.2GB thats it.

"it doesn't matter what brand of disk I used"

you are so very wrong. The disc you use makes a big different in how well your games play, how long the backup will last before the dye wears out and they stop working, and how long your PS2 laser will last before you burn it out.
Ask around about Memorex discs and i am sure at least 8 out of 10 people you get a response from here will tell you that as far as name brand DVD's go they are the worst.

If you do it right it should load up without any extra effort with either Swap Magic or a modchip. I have a system with each method and my back up of GTA San Andreas played just fine.
If you are using Swap Magic and a quality brand of DVD then you should never have to worry about any disc under 4.5GB not working unless it has dummy files.

If you are using some method other than Swap Magic or a modchip then it is beacuse you are just too cheap to do it the right way and you deserve to have to do extra work to load your games.

OK, i'll you lot what i did. I copied GTA:SA normally, (read image, burn image, etc.) and it worked but it was sooooooooooooooooo slow. what i did was actually read the BACKUP (not the original) onto an image file while using the 'skip read errors' (in Alcohol 120%, its the best in my opinion), and then burned it onto a DVD+R (or -R, i dont remember). it works fine now, ive gone onto the 2nd island (but ive stopped playin it for about 8 months...better games, you know LOL)

The PAL version works with no problem. Its only the NTSC version that has those annoying 'Disc Read Error' messages.
