Up til now I have converted Sega Sports Tennis and Gradius V to DVD-R with no problem, but REZ is really giving me a hard time.

Any help apreciated

You need to start by having all the files on your HD, then scan the system.cnf, SLES/SLUS, and IOP files with Sonix DVD Scan 3.7 (usually comes as an extra piece of software with Apache 2.0) and change the media checks to DVD. Then, using Sony CDVDGenerator 2.0, rebuild the game image (placing the files into the compilation in the same order as they originally appeared on the CD - you will need to take a 'Filelist.txt' from IsoBuster to help you with placement). If the image is going to be smaller than DVD size (which it probably will be if originally on a CD) then you'll need to create a false TOC by giving the 1st file a higher placement than CDVDGen first gives it (around 600000 should be high enough), the rest of the files will move up sequentially after that. Create an IML file, then compile the iso using Gnie's DVD IML2ISO.

Another way, if you have Nero Burning Rom, is just to drag the files (in order) into the burning rom folder and burn it. Do this after you have scanned the files with DVD Scan.

Well, I have been trying to do the same, also with no luck.

So, if anyone can make a working DVD version of Rez, please post here, mentioning how you make it.

@hursty: REZ is an original CD game from SEGA. Great visuals and a very innovative concept. For more information check here --> http://ps2.ign.com/articles/166/166546p1.html

@ace1uk: Thanks for the small guide. Thats exactly how I do to convert games from CD-R to DVD-R. Somehow it's not working for REZ.

The weird thing is that dvdscan 3.7 finds a lot of "media checks" but some of them doesn't say "original code" on the results report. Usually the first line is teh media check code, the second line says "original code" and the 3rd line says "patched to DVD-R". As I said earlier there are like 4 checks where theres only the first line (media check code) and then "patched to DVD-R" on the second line.

Few suggestions:
1) If you are going to post in the this thread then don't create another one of the same (http://forums.afterdawn.com/message_reply.cfm?thread_id=353244&fo...)
2) Bumping is against the forum rules - please read it before you post

I'll try to get my hands on this game in the next few days and hopefully can have a look at what's stopping it from being rebuilt to a DVD :)

I have also tried a handful of times to put Rez on DVD using the different methods (I got lego star wars to work so I know it can be done, maybe not with Rez though)discussed through out this forum with no luck. So if anyone figures out if this can be done and how to do it I am sure there are a few folks that would appreciate the sharing of that knowledge. Thanks!!
