Hey guys. Does anyone know of anyways a home user like all of us can add copy protection to a disc we have previosly ripped. Why I ask is because there's this guy I know that does them and now seems to put a lock of sorts on them. Any suggestions?

Just curious as to why you would want to do this? When you make a backup you are removing the protection from the movie, and now you want to add protection back to it?

you might want to get rid of your friends if they steal from you , also you could put your dvd's in a place where they can't find them or put a lock on your door, also don't loan out your dvd' or cd's

Hmmmm! seems kinda funny that you would want to lock your CD's, etc since you just unlocked protections from some of the biggest movie companys there is. If the movie companys cannot keep from having theirs unlocked what makes you think you could make something that your friends could not unlock since your saying they are computer smart also. With friends like them no one needs enemies. Go figure.....LOL

That was the craziest thread I've read to date!!! Why don't you and your friends just make an aggrement and when one of you make a copy, make enough for everyone in your circle and everybody else does the same. If someone is a slacker, boot them out and revoke their chair. LOL with this one!!!

Well when u say it like that it just sounds really bad. But its not that serious. But im not just talking about the commercial ones...but home made ones as well.

But like I said im my initial post. I get some DVDs from a guy that seems to add back encryption on the DVDR and I cant get it ripped. PERIOD. No App seems to work.

I would just ask them to make me a copy then. It could be several different things as to why you can't copy the disc so as I said before, I'd just ask that person to do it for me if it's o.k. I've never had or seen this problem before. LOL!!!

Your buddy is probably using Memorex discs burned at maximum speed while multitasking and then applying paper adhesive labels to them...that is some pretty good protection, as a matter of fact you'll be lucky to be able to just watch them in a stand alone player.

Yes , you can add the protection back on. Try the product Sony DVD Architect 3.0. With it you can add Macrovision and CSS. But, with the proper rippers in other people hands, this protection would be worthless.
