I have Comcast cable internet.

And my question is can i plug two cable modems in to the same internet line and use them both at the same time?

Why would you want to do that,if you need to hook up more than one computer just get a router.

Besides, I've read somewhere here in the forums that it won't work.

Sure it's possible. You are plugging them into your cable line. Split the line, and run a second cable wherever you want it. I can see no good reason to do that, though. A wireless router makes more sense.

use a cable splitter they use 3.5db so you need a good connection
i am wondering what you are doing i thought i knew all the cable scams
but if it works come back and tell us
my son has no idea what advantage you are looking for either
cos you'll have top pay twice to use 2 modems

Unless the modem is provisioned, it will not receive an IP from the ISP. Your 2nd modem will not be allowed access based on the MAC id. Your customer record at your ISP contains the MAC of any and all modems you are authorized to use and will only issue an IP to auhtorized modems. You can pay for a second IP address, but I dont know if they require a second modem for that or not.

Ok thanks for the help...i dont think i will do this 2 modem thing because i would have to pay for another ip adress. But thanks for the help anyway

BTW: PCREPAIR knows what im doing (i think) :)
