First time poster, long time user. I've read all of the threads about Hostel, but none cover my issue. Here's where I'm at:

-I've ripped Hostel to my harddrive with DVDFab Decryptor (I process all)
-I then process the movie through VoB Blanker.

DVDFab gives me a 7.31GB file. VoB Blanker leaves me a 3.55GB file. Any idea what's wrong? ALso, just FYI, when I try to rip the flick with Decryptor and AnyDVD, it stops after about 2%. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi I just did Hostel, not sure why, not a great movie and noticed that it sat at 2% for a long time with DVDshrink and AnyDVD. walked the dog and it was recording tracks when I got back. Also recorded at 8x instead of 16x for less media fallout. Later, LEDLites

What version of VobBlanker are you using? Looks like jsoto just released the final 2.1.1.0 a couple of days ago.

I'm using VOB Blanker 2.0.1.0.

DVD Decryptor hangs up at 2% complete for me and wants me to skip, retry or ignore.

Just tried again with VOB Blanker 2.1.1.0. I had the same result, a 3.5GB output file.

Hi, I backed up my region 1 (US) Hostel doing the following:

Run AnyDVD in the background, set the software to region 1 to match the disc (or 2 depending what disc u have), then rip with decryptor, run the iso file thro shrink, and burn...I select burn with Nero...worked for me!!

I think I figured out the problem. I watched the original today, and it became unplayable about 2/3 of the way through the movie! I'll return it and try with a new one.
