Ok, so I get all this new comp stuff on my adventure to build/upgrade my old pc into a new one, i bought a new mobo, processor, and case, at first i couldn't get either of my old or new mobos to work in the case as in the pc would not turn on like it wasn't gettin power or sumthin. Then I finally got my old mobo to work in it, the only thing i've been interchanging between these two mobos is the RAM, storage and disk drives etc. My motherboard book says that improperly installed ram or the processor could lead to it not turning on, but i've checked these. Currently my assumption is i just plain old have the wrong type of RAM (because i don't know exactly what mine is, the mobo requires DDR266, DDR333, or DDR400).
I've come to this assumption because i've checked to see everything is installed properly several times. If anyone has any suggestions on what could be wrong please post.
-Thank you

It will not turn on at all. You can see the light on the mobo showing it's getting power, but it does not turn on.

Check the cable to the floppy drive, make sure it is secure. Computer won't boot without it. What motherboard do you have? The processor that you transfered, the old motherboards specs, so we can identify what type of memory it used. That will be a start. Then we can get an idea what might be in conflict.

If you mean by floppy drive the floppy A disk things, then i don't have a floppy drive, if u mean the Hard Drive with storage i have that plugged in. I'm not exactly sure on what type of motherboard my old pc had, the pc itself is an Insignia D400 desktop, all the things in it are stock. The processor I put in the new mobo is also brand new, it is an AMD Athlon 3000+ Venice. The Mobo is a TUL AX480A7-F Socket 754 ATI XPRESS 200P ATX AMD. I also have an ATi Radeon X800 Video card installed on this new mobo.(the video card wasn't usable on the old mobo)

Upon doing some homework on my old pc set up, the RAM is 512MB PC2100 DDR SDRAM. So I'm assuming this is a little dated to work on the new mobo when it requires DDR266/333/400?

AxFactor he has DDR RAM. DDR is a type of SDRAM. That's not a problem!
One of he boards you're using could possibly be faulty. Which boards have you got?

malconfigured HDDs / RAM will never cause a PC to not turn on, they'll give you beeping noises if they're wrong but you'd at least hear some fans spinning.

Given the reviews it's quite possibly DOA. You said you have two boards? If you do, don't change anything but swap the boards over and set up everything as it was with the TUL one that didn't work. If it works, send back the TUL.

The only thing i could set back up with the old mobo is the RAM, hard drive, and cd/dvd drives, and I'm working off of my old mobo now, so basically i have to take out the processor and then send the old mobo back to newegg? And will they send me a new one for free or do i have to just pick a new one out? (and it prolly won't be the same one again)

Newegg should give you the option to replace it with another for the cost difference.
