Somehow I got a codec from www.xxxcodec.com installed (I blame my brother - but have no proof) - apparently it is used for online trailers and clips.

Now whenever I start windows and at irregular intervals I get a set of "error - ok#" messages.

What is really annoying is that they minimize whatever (movie, game, WHATEVER) is on screen.

This makes it very hard for me to watch movies and play games on my PC as most games I have doesn't like to be suddenly minimized.

It isntalled itself in my programs folder - and that directory only has an exe file that I can't delete - it doesn't show up in either Add/Remove Programs or Ie's list of plugins(running or used)

Can anyone here help me GET THIS PIECE OF CRAP out of my system without me having to reinstall windows (as that is pretty much what I got left)

oh and E-Mails sendt to their support address comes back undeliverable

Download and install this program.

http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/

Go to the directory where that EXE file is stored. Once there, right click the file and choose Unlocker (providing that explorer extension was checked during installation). This will pop up a screen with the following message or something similar; No locking handle found. However Unlocker can help you deal with this object. Choose the action you want to perform on the object. Click the dropbox and select Delete. It will ask you to restart the computer.

If you get a different screen that shows the list of process running in the background, then choose Unlock All and then perform the step listed above.

This program should no longer start up with the computer because it's no longer present on your hard drive. I then suggest running an Anti-spyware program (not sure if it came bundled with spyware) to make sure it didn't leave any traces of spyware on your system. Get either Ad-aware personal or Spybot: Search-n-Destroy.
