I'm sorry if this is the wrong place ddp. anyway, I was wondering, which way is the safest and best way to dowload stuff. P2p torrnet or news group. Only p2p i know is winmx and limewire but winmx got shut down. I don't know what the heck is torrnet. I also don't know what's news group. i just know it's the source of download. Now which one is the best speed, quilty,no fake files.

Newsgroups would be the safest and most reliable by far, as fast as your connection will allow it to be, but they tend to cost a bit of cash if your ISP doesn't provide you with usenet access.

Then torrents come along, fairly safe (if you use peerguardian that is), usually very fast, and no fake files as long as you stick to private torrent sites.

And then comes the standard P2P, with lots of fake files, virusses, spyware that comes with the program itself, slow, unreliable, etc etc.

Usenet is the network that Newsgroups work on.
As for torrents, yes, using them is free, though some sites will ask that you make donations to help them run their servers.

If you need more info about Bittorrents, download TomMelee's Bittorrent Bible (one of the most informative FAQ's there is) : http://rapidshare.de/files/20320267/BT_Bible_1_2.pdf.html

The client is the actual program you use to download the files.. like

uTorrent - http://www.utorrent.com/

You then use the sites to locate files which you subsequently download through your client.

A list of decent torrent sites can be found via the following link - http://www.torrentsites.org/

If you exited outta uTorrent, it shutdown aka its not longer an active process in Windows or whatever your OS is. Now if you mimized uTorrent, its still running in your taskbar (down in the bar where the clock is in Windows) to reopen uTorrent (get it back on screen, doubleclick on its icon in the taskbar)

To relaunch uTorrent if you completely exited out, goto your StartMenu or Desktop and doubleclick on the icon

Which folder did you install it to then? You must have modified that, as programs always install to the Program Files.

That's what i was about to say, that's where mine is...
If you can't find it at all, just re-download and re-install (and make sure it does install, and that it's in a place where you can find it)

Because there are almost no virusses and fake files...
look for torrents here :
http://isohunt.com/
http://www.torrenthut.com/
http://www.torrentz.com/
http://www.torrentspy.com/

Download the torrent file, drag it into utorrent, then let it download till it's got the file, and presto, one movie/mp3/program/whatever you where downloading
