aabbccdd,
I would try it the way it's supposed to be first, with both blowing in. As I just found out, it doesn't take much to hurt things, so be careful!
Sammorris,
I don't think you can deal with airflow in this case in the conventional way because of the baffled zone design inside the case. If you change the direction it will screw up the airflow from the other 2 zones. Check the link he supplied for the airflow in his case and you will see what I mean. It's back a few pages! It's all designed around things working properly the way it's shown in the little demo Lian-Li has for the case air flow!

To All,
Surprise, surprise! No problem with Intel. They will ship 2nd day Air the day they receive the old CPU & Cooler. Spent perhaps 15 minutes on the phone and most of that was with the Tech Rep. I have never aeen a cpu that would work for a few seconds and then quit, but was assured that this can happen, especially with the Prescotts. The way I understand it is that if certain instruction sets like throttling, built into the chip get damaged, you can have this problem.
Sam,
Quote: Lol it was HILARIOUS. What were you on, something illegal?
Do you honestly believe that "I"..."Me" would do something like that? LOL I just started it kinda tongue in cheek and it just built and got away from me. Elvis didn't help either, yelling at me like that! Absolutely makes my day that you got to read it before it was removed. Now you know why I say I'm 62 going on 12!LOL It's the "child" in me!! He! He!
Actually I'm a pretty good writer (not speller) when I put my mind to it. As far back as 6th grade I wrote all my classes assembly plays I used to be an excellent speller but I've learned to rely too much on the spell checker. I may just start doing my posts in wordpad and spell check it before I copy and paste it to the forum.

Thanks for the kind words.. The only reason I knew you had read it was while the removed your reply post, it didn't remove the window message you get when you click on the post.
As far as Google toolbar goes, thanks but no thanks. I had it for a while and discovered a whole heard of pop-up adds along with it. When I got tired of being "Googled", I removed it. wordpad will work just fine until I can write a background spell checker for windows. Don't quite know if I am up to it though. I don't do much of that sort of stuff these days. We'll see!

crowy, reduce your sig to 50k instead of current 175663 bytes.
2. An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall.

well what about laptops. i have an intel one atm but planning on buying a new one.But am concerned about Amd getting heated too soon as it would be on for days together.also the city i live in , we have hot summers here for 5 months, so that will only add to the problem. Any opinions about whether i should go for an intel again or amd??

I just got done spending a week using a new Dell Latitude D820 with a dual core 2400 "Yonah" CPU. Didn't have any heating problems with it. Where I live in So. Cal. it's been 100 to 106F lately. Even with AC it still gets warm inside sometimes. I prefer Dell Laditude laptops. They are very rugged. I can't say the same for their Inspirons! I have an old 1GHz P3 Dell Latitude C610 that I won't part with. There are newer and more advanced laptops these days but I don't see myself running out and buying a new one very soon. Besides, I'm not real fond of most of the current crop of laptops, and for the life of me I don't understand why the shiny screens? As near as I can see it makes for a brighter screen that you can see annoying reflections in, which makes the brighter screen useless because when the light reflects off of it you can't see the screen! I also don't care about weight, I care about it being able to take normal abuse. Some of the slim widescreen ones out now are so flimsey that they flex if you pick them up wrong. Dell also has the best laptop keyboard in my opinion.
I know they banned Dell laptops on the airlines, but that's a battery problem, not the fault of the computer. They will get it right! They always do!

I couldn't agree more. All those shiney screens look good except in a moving environment. There reflections are more than annoying, they are irritating. I think the color depth while not quite as bright,is not quite as good on the shiney screens. My 5 year old Dell 14.1" screen looks better, at least to my eyes!

In a dark room without much other lighting, the vaio screen would run rings around the hp in multimedia, but in most conditions that is indeed the case. If only it had more RAM though, 256MB is ghastly.
Ooh that reminds me, on almost all computers I've used, once in windows the memory usage is around 300M, which of course is quite large, yet on the school computers and one of the laptops at work, the page file is only about 100M when ready to go. How is that done? There aren't many applications I use in addition to the other PCs to get 300M, it goes up to 500 when they're open!

Nah, there's very little difference, and the amount of RAM they have is irrelevant, this is how much is USED. Our 256MB laptop never uses under 320, so it's always paging, and therefore slow, yet a 512MB laptop at work only uses 92MB in windows. This system uses about 400.

now u have me wondering, because in just this and media player, i am using 307 pg files.. ? i thought if you have a gig or so.. u don't have to worry about that, unless you are in application intensive games.

That's correct, but our laptop only has 256MB RAM, so a page file that large is a problem!

In games that system will crawl due to the very slow video card, but in windows it should run quite well.

If you're in america then 100-110V, never 200-240! If you're in europe then maybe, but not in the US. Your system will crawl with a 6200, they're not exactly the epitomy of speed.

May not fry, but it certainly wouldn't work. However, if you set 100V where I live you would fry a system.
