I'm not sure a new PSU will help with OCs much unless you're being seriously restricted, it just means that when you are running OCed there's less chance of a boom.

@estuansis- the socket 754 amd athlon 3300+ was on sale at tigerdirect for 35 dollars!!! i felt so stupid becuase i had to replace my 2800+ because the pins were somehow bent. i replaced it with another 2800 for 80 dollars! i could have got a better cpu for 50 dollars less. my rant is done.

It happens to us all. My new PC is only 33 days old, and has a £230 X2 4200+ in it. It's now £140. Said PC also contains a £327 X1900XT, which can now be had for £240.

The Hyper PSU is $89.00 with $7.00 shipping at this place:

http://www.ipcqueen.com/Hiper-Power-Supply_1788.html

I ordered from there and had it the next day without the next day postage! (S. CA to NV) They called me to tell me it was shipped.

I will shop from there again!

Can't take the credit, I just copied and pasted it from He_Man. Besides, Bunny would probably do a lot better job running the world than the idiots that run it now! LOL

@All,

Well I got my Arctic Freezer installed on the Prescott build and all I can say is "silence is golden" temps so far are only about 3 degrees less than with the previous cooler,but I suspect it will take time for the Arctic Silver to do it's thing.

I just finished checking Newegg and the price for the Arctic Freezer 64 was at $24.99 with free shipping...as you might expect,I hit the "buy" button immediatly!Now the 3800x2 can get the same treatment.

One thing is certain,these things are quiet and huge!

If you think that's huge, you should see the Zalman 9500LED. Bigger and heavier than that is The Tuniq 120. This one really needs a brace between the bottom of the case and the cooler, it's so heavy! I'm very impressed with the Arctic. I understand that the Freezer series 7, 64 and 4 are all the same cooler. Just the mount is different. The Zalman 9500 is a genuine pain in the ass to install, at least on 478 and 775. If you don't have a case larger than 10 bays or your power supply is on the bottom of the case, you're stuck with removing either the power supply or motherboard! With the Arctic freezer series, you don't even need tools! It's way quieter than the 9500 as well! Right now I can buy 2 of the Freezer Pro series for the cost of 1 9500LED! Care to guess where I spent my money?

I just bought a Freezer 64 Pro for an AMD build within the next couple of days. This will be my first socket 939 with the Arctic 64 Freezer Pro. I'll let you know how it works.

Happy Computering,
theone
