theonejrs: Living in a small country has its advantages, lots of things arrive next day! That is, if the couriers can be bothered...
rick5446: Yeah a Sempron 3100+ isn't great if you had an XP 3200+ before (I presume, that's the only old 2.2Ghz chip I can think of, you wouldn't downgrade from the A64!) an XP 3200+

is about 3000 on the performance scale and a Sempron 3100+ about 2700, so 10% slower. 64-bit mind, but still slower.
Theone, rick: What you have to remember, the Sempron 32-bit Bartons were appalling, running about 600 "mhz" slower than their rated figure versus 200 for Athlon XPs, Sempron64s are

better, but only the higher ones, it'd take a Sempron64 3600+ to meet that Athlon XP 3200+, and for that money you can have an Athlon64 3700+ which would walk over it.
Baltekmi: I didn't noitce that most. Radial cooling isn't usual, cooler kits often do it, but rarely stock coolers. It doesn't help you realise better performance, but it'll let you overclock further, and also robably run quieter. That's useful.

You'd pay that much for a CPU off ebay? I applaud that, I wouldn't go near it. Ebay is always going to be cheapest but it's $150 more at newegg, and when compared to ebay, that's not all that much.

That sounds very good to me. $1600AU is £645. It's £700-750 here. However, I make $1600AU to be $1220 US, which is $70 more than newegg...
I don't know many australian computer retailers I'm afraid...

maybe but most of the time not.they need the time to transfer funds to bank account.plus if its a shop on ebay with like over 6000 feedback its highley unlikely they will close down due to what..one person.i dont think so

Hate to burst your bubble as that all sounds nice, it just isn't true. I got nicked for $97+ when the person totally mis-represented what he was selling. In spite of presenting Ebay with the original add and in spite of the fact that I was supposed to be bidding on a laptop. What I got was a motherboard for a laptop. They didn't do a damn thing about it! There guarantee isn't worth the screen it's printed on! I cancelled my Ebay account and won't do any business there, ever again! They are so big, they just don't care. Like I said, all thier BS sounds good but it's still BS!

Happy Computering,
theone

I'd agree with Russ, there are a LOT of rogue sellers out there. By all means I'd sell a component or computer on ebay but I'd never buy something I could afford to pay for and not get.

Ooo ebay..my favourite subject.. I had 6 accounts for myself and 20 people I worked with who had multiple accounts also.. we used to buy stuff off each other 9never paid for anything) and always leave great feedback for the other..stung heaps of fools with trash, wrong goods..broken (blame the mail) or plain never sent it.. we did an excellent line in pace digi boxes..sold 35 of em, only had the one. No refunds..no warning from ebay..and just a pack of lies in the feedback..
Amazing how quickly somebody agrees to mutually withdraw the bad comments when one of your friends (who they don't know) accuses them of trying to sell them the item you never sent privately during another transaction..
I eventually gave up after getting ripped myself once too often, and it started getting a bit hot with all the accounts..
Moral of the story...Don't buy on ebay..selling is fine but be prepared to lie and steal..

As to the amd-intel thing.. I don't care as long as it works.
