Memory "chips" have been and always will be more expensive than a mechanical hard drive. How much would 16GB of system RAM cost you (if you could even jam it in your system)? Probably more than $599. You turn of the computer's power, the information in your system RAM goes away, but the NAND Flash RAM, of course it stays intact. You don't even need to connect it to a battery or external power source as you would the i-RAM from Gigabyte, or other solutions.
