I have been having difficulty with my DVD decrypter program. I use DVD shrink with anydvd to download the DVD and when I try to burn it, I get an error message:
I/O Error
Device (1:0:0) SONY DVD+-RW-D56A PDS3(D:)(ATA)
ScsiStatus: 0x02
Interpretation: Check Condition
CDB: 1B 01 00 00 03 00

Recently I was having difficulty with my burning disks. I downloaded anydvd and was back up and running without difficulty. My system then slowed down to burning at 2.5 speed from top speed of 6.0. My system went on to stop burning all together. I then defraged my drive, checked my burner for errors(which showed no errors) and was back to burning again at 2.5 speed. A few movies later and I am getting this message.
I usually get perfect copies of movies every time without difficulty, but the last movie skips and came out terrible.
I use my lap top for burning. I use 8x DVDs, Sony brand name.

few things
1.) check for "firmware" upgrades for your optical drive
2.) dont run any other software when burning.. and services loaded down by the time right click and exit
3.) use compressed air to blow out any dust in the dvd drive (open the draw and blow it out)
4.) look for updated software for burning
this could also be a bug problem from windows.. different patches effect everything even if it never happend before it can trigger later down the road.
for your sony drive i have seen a few error reports online talking about the same thing.
if none of these options work you might have to look into reinstalling windows.
its a good idea to reinstall every 6months to 1year depending on how much you use it and install/uninstall junk

dvd decrypter is relatively old now and not upgraded but if you use the latest AnyDVD with it you shouldnt have to many issues.

ok..... if your drive suddenly starts to slow down there is a good chance that your drive slipped into PIO mode and needs to enable DMA! Read this and you should have no problem resetting your drive back to DMA, it's easy:
http://my.afterdawn.com/alkohol/blog_entry.cfm/231/dmaissues
once you've done this your drive should act like new!

IHOe
I went throught all these steps without any luck on your site. Any other suggestions.
I can still download movies without difficulty, but when I put a new blank DVD in, the driver does not seem to see it/and I get the original message still.

if you have a DELL computer your firmware (PSD3) is out of date.... try PDS7: (type in your drive name- Sony DW-D56A in the search)
http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_result.php?kaj=1&isces
now with the new firmware and making sure that DMA is enabled you should have no problem!

I downloaded the updated driver and DVD decrypter says device not ready (logical unit is in process of becoming ready)
I am using windows XP. M computer is about 1.5 years old.
DMA is correct.
Still with same problem.

found on hp support.
Your burner might not be supported by our software or your burner might be defective or have some problem
1.)Simple fix (maybe)
if you only have one drive hooked to that IDE cable make sure the burner is not on cable select "cs" or on slave.. it must be set as master
2.)Invalid Field in CDB
Either the copy process stopped because the writer ran out of data (connection lost to the pc) or the CD you want to copy might contain corrupt subchannel data.
suggest that you leave the field 'Don't repair subchannel data' blank when starting the writing process. (if you can find it)

I called dell today and went over my problem with the service rep. Dell is sending me a new burner in the mail. If that does not fix the problem, then dell wants to wipe my hard drive and reload it.
