What do you mean it didn't work.....I need more details.....It could be that your system couldn't handle the overclock....Or you Oc'd too much and the computer went unstable.....

someone told me when you're in the bios go to hardware tab and then in the cpu configuration press del then It will allow you to overclock it. I played with bios for more than an hour or so but no result at all. pressing the del key constantly doesn't bring any changes to the cpu. if there's any other way to overclock it please let me know or if there's any useful website beside guru3d.com will be appreciated. Thanks for the replies guys.

Dude tell me what is jumperfree configuration and how do I get in to it. Please write everything with details because I am a beginner and trying to learn more about the computer hardware because that's my hobby. tonight I'll post the pictures of how the bios looks alike then maybe that will help you better understand. Can you also mention other method of overclocking it. Well thanks though

Ok i just overclocked my Cpu just now and this is how i did it.

Turn off pc
Turn on Pc
At startup press Del
You should see you have entered Bios
go into the Advanced Tab
You should see something that said Cpu Speed Make that higher
Make any other things you see higher.
Press Esc
Click Save changes
Launch like normal
Run a benchmark tool like sisandra lite
Check its all running smoothly
Youve overclocked your first Cpu

If you cannot launch or any other problems dont worry just reset cmos by entering the bios and clicking Load defaults settings.

Also you may want to raise your Vcore setting as this can stabalise a overclocked computer.

DO NOT RAISE VCORE TO MUCH
DO NOI RAISE YOUR CPU SPEED TOO MUCH
When overclocking what i do is go up in 5s and wait to find unstability and then raise vcore.
Then if its stable leave it!

I am not responsible for any hardware you may destroy doing this.

I'm pretty sure "Jumper free configuration" only applies to Asus motherboards. You need to download and read the manual,Unless of course someone else on this forum has or had the same motherboard as you.
You don't want to mess it up...do you?

Ok well as you seem , no offence, a bit of a newbie at this maybe this app is better

BAD LINK

Download that.
Overclock your Cpu.
Run the programme and click test and if it last the 30 mins without hanging restarting or anything you have sucessfully overclocked your Comp!

And as for what you can expect well just make sure you dont go over around 50 degrees with little load and you should be ok.

good luck tell us how it goes!

And again i am not responsible for anything you may damage overclocking your Pc!

Dude the link that you gave me for the benchmark tool "sisandra" it isn't working. I even have an account with them now too. However I was successful to overclock it from 2.53 to 2.6. Computer runs a bit faster for first couple of minutes then it slows down. Is that too much? Maybe it's overheating now. Sometimes I can't even shut down the computer. Mention some good heatsinks for my cpu. I was looking some heatsink on newegg but don't know which one is to be used with mine. Lastly what does socket and northbirdge, southbridge mean..

http://www.download.com/SANDRA-Lite/3000-2086_4-10451861.html?tag...

theres a good link for sisandra lite.

As for that small overclock you should not really being experiencing problems with such a small overclock. Maybe you have a really crappy heat sink.

I can only recommend a heatsink when i know exactly what processor you have.

So please tell me which one you have!

Cheers

It is Pentium 4 2.53 with 533 fsb and I have 512mb ram pc2100. I don't know about the socket or any other thing. Heatsink is crappy because one of the clips from left side is really lose and it's bent a little bit.
