i was wondering if anyone has been having problems with azureus...i previously had the 2.4.0.6 version and i had nothing but problems from it...kept locking up...so i downgraded back to the 2.3.0.6 version and it worked for about a day or so and then locked up when i started it up...like it would go through trying to load but when the actual window with the torrents would pop up it would freeze up...i've downgraded again back to 2.2.0.6 and it is working as of now..but i would still prefer to have 2.3.0.6...before i upgraded to 2.4.0.6 it was working perfectly(with 2.3.0.6 installed)...i have tried loading it different ways and with almost everything shut off(i know that azureus can be a hog when it comes to using up resources...and i have java 5.0 installed)...if anyone has any ideas or info...it would be greatly appreciated..thanks..holla ;)
yeah i looked through the help folder for Azureus but i really didn't see too much...i just downloaded and ran "easycleaner" and it cleaned out a bunch of corrupt files and reg keys...but so far 2.3.0.6 is running like a champ..i'm about to reboot and see about upgrading and if it will run correctly..thanks for the help
bad news and good news...my comp was hit with a "Fatal error"..i had to reformat the entire drive :*( lost everything...but i had everything backed up on my external, so actually it was a blessing...i got rid of everything that dell wanted to give me and i have everything that i personally wanted....took me forever to get the drives installed sorry about the delay....freed up about 60 gigs worth of space
I've been debating whether or not it's time for a format myself...meh, I dunno. I always keep a copy of ubuntu, linspire, and mepis around in case I actually virus out or crash so hard I can't boot into windows at all, that way I can still get off whatever I need.
i don't think it was a virus....i ran easy cleaner and it supposedly deleted all the reg keys that were safe to delete...but when i rebooted it crashed my system and told me that it had shut windows down to prevent damage to my system...i'm just glad i had my resource disk and my back up on my external(you can't be too carefully...especially when computers are so freaking expensive)....i did reinstall the java plug-in and reinstalled Azureus 2.4.0.2...and it's running fine now...thanks for all the help...and i for future knowledge...DON'T EVER RUN EASYCLEANER...lol holla ;)
