Hey everyone!
Well ive been running this system for around a year and i have always had random crashes every so often and ive put it down to the Psu which is a crappy one that came with my case.
Some of the power graphs are just awful!
So now i need a good stable nothing special no neon light nothing like thay just a standrad reliable cheap psu.
Any ideas?

hey boxwrench,
i saw that thread but he was looking for a psu.
I am looking for a budget psu as i have already gone over budget with my current specs for my upgrade.
So any help finding a good stable psu would be great.
p.s noise really isnt a problem! To a limit anyway.

what is YOUR "budget" at this point for a fairly decent PSU? under a $100 U.S. dollars? or even lower than say $50? to be honest with you, a DECENT PSU is gonna be VERY DIFFICULT to find under $50 (unless there is a manufacturer's rebate on it) :)
if under $100, we got some room to work with, but for 1/2 of that...it's realistically NOT gonna happen if you want a DECENT one, despite going over your budget for the rest of your system, the powersupply is NOT the place where you want to cut corners, this is going to be the "workhorse" of your system, a steady, good power flow is essential for your other components to run optimally~ :)

@lecsiy, The Doc is right.The last place that you want to cut corners is with a power supply.But if you must go low budget this is my suggestion>http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817153023
I bought this exact unit as a replacement/upgrade for my Dell dimension 3000.(before I knew better) It has served me well and it's still going strong.Read the reviews,as you'll see there are many other satisfied customers as well.You may want to use this until you can afford to upgrade to something better.

Soz well lets put a budget of £35

Have a look at the Akasa or FSP range of psu on overclockers.co.uk you might go £10 over budget but it would be worth it , steer clear of Q-tec & thermaltake psu as tey are kinda shoddy :)

It's apparent that everyone has they're own opinion on what is good or bad,I can only make my reccomendations on experience that I have had with a manufacturer.As I have not owned any of the other brands suggested,I would hope that you get more information before making your descision.No matter what your choice is you will find that there are both good and bad apples on every "tree".

I've owned a Q-tec & Thermaltake, the Q-tec just plain stopped working .. this was used on my first ever self built rig before i had internet access & i'm not the only person to have had a bad experience with one on this site. The Thermaltake failed on it's 12v rail within 6 months of getting it & was as loud as f*!k. Am using a FSP in my sktA rig without fault for over a year & it's really quiet. On my opteron 165 rig i use a Hiper R 580w modular psu which i can't fault one bit .....
