I've been trying to download files from 2 of my favourite websites Gamecopyworld.com and crackteam.ws and while downloading from gamecopyworld I get this, "Unathorized Referrer Detected!" An error message saying that Zone Alarm possibly kills the referrer. It also mentions other software that might conflict with the download, such as other firewalls, download managers etc.
When I've tryed to download from crackteam.ws it goes to a page where tha address is ...crackteam.ws/scripts/noreferer.php?site=CrackTeam.ws. Could this be the same problem do you think?

I would really like to tweak ZoneAlarm but don't know how, this great software, so halp would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Trouble is, I believe that I've tryed that, and still have this problem so I don't know if it is really ZoneAlarm Firewall causing the problem. It should be! Do you know why firewalls kill connections? How are they any different from downloading trials from other websites? It doesn't make sense. Can you think of anyhing else?
Thanks in advance.

The site uses HTTP Referer, I don't know much about it, but there's info in wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Referer

I think referes can be used for bad things, and that's why firewalls block them. In Kerio there's list where you can add web sites and allow referers for them. There should be same kind of list in ZoneAlarm.

Thanks for the link, I don't look through wikipedia enough. Lazy I guess. Like the answers concise and quick LOL. So many techincal terms in computing it's hard to keep up sometimes. I don't think ZoneAlarm has such a list as you mention, but I'll try something. Thanks again.

Your firewall is blocking the referrer. A referrer is simply the previous page that linked to the current page. Some sites have safeguards in them that stop other sites from directly linking to their downloads. They do this by checking the referrer and if the referrer is not part of their site, stop you from accessing the download.

When you block the referrer, they assume someone is trying to hotlink to them and block you.
