I cannot generate an iso to back it up. I have vcdromx and psp v0.8c (funny face)loader. The files i have put on to the computer so far are pspgame\sysdir which contains an update folder and 2 files called eboot and boot (all these unzipped from large file). Also usrdir in the pspgame folder with data.bin inside it. I am EXTREMELY new to this so please be patient with me :). I have tried to generate iso, and have done with different files(from ones specified above) in each one but it never works on the psp.

You have the 3 folder files that came with it when you downloaded it right? The X folder, the Monster hunter folder (where everything goes in) and the PSP folder with the 2 sub folders to get the game to run. First get the Monter hunter freedom folder and rename it to PSP_GAME, then go to any one of your other psp games and get the UMD_DATA.Bin, and place it in the same folder with monster hunter, now open UMD Gen 2.0 and place PSP_GAME which you just renamed with the UMD_DATA.bin which you took from another game into the UMD Gen 2.0. Now press File>Save and choose your location for your ISO. There you have it, you backed up your iso.

you need at least 1 UMD in the drive, any UMD will be fine.
