I have a audio track in one MP3 file, length A-B-C-D-E in total.
I am interested to do a cut, paste and join.

What software would you recommend?

Let say I wanna cut out from point C to D and rejoint A-B-E.
How do I do it? Any software able to do that?

And the same time perhaps, I just want point C to D of the MP3 audio.
How do I copy this portion out as a new MP3 file?

Hope you guys is able to help. Thanks.

P.S. A detail 'How to do it' would help. Thank you very much in advance. :)

With Audacity that's easy:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

You also need Lame MP3 Encoder, if you want to save your MP3 files:
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/audio_software/audio_encoders/l...

When you open the MP3, select from C to D (like selecting text from document) delete those parts and save the rest file: "File" -> "Export as MP3..."

And if you want to save the C to D part, simply open the original MP3 again, select and delete A, B, and E parts.

Audacity is free, open source and easier to get :)

.

When it is saved, what format is it saved into, that needs to be Exported to MP3. Could other software be used for the export/convert besides Lame on the edited saved file?

Thank you again.

One thing to keep in mind, Audacity is going to reencode the file that you save. It is always best to get a program that doesn't reencode the file. MP3DirectCut is a free program that will work for you. You can get here.
