When attempting to write to the disc I get this error message.

Failed to reserve track.
Reason: No more track reservations allowed.

What does it mean? How do I solve this problem?

Thank You
Don

What is the brand, model number, and firmware version of your burner?
What brand, type(+R-R), and speed of media are you using?
What burn speed are you attempting.

I looked up your failed to reserve track and this is what I came up with....from the man himself....Lightning UK!, author of DVDDecrypter:

http://forum.doom9.org/archive/index.php/t-45217.html

if you're using an RW disk make sure you erase it!

Thanks for the responses. I am using a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR106D. Firmware Version 1.05. FujiFilm DVD-R discs. The burn speed is 4x. For what it is worth. I have burned 100s of dvds with this setup and have never had a problem. I uninstalled DVD Decrypter and reinstalled it. I was then able to successfully burn a few more discs. Then the problem reoccurred. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not correct the problem at this time. Again, thanks for the help.

Hello don6288.

I can't find your firmware version on the page we usually go to for such things which likely means your firmware is out of date. Have you ever upgraded the firmware for your burner before? It seems the latest version for your burner is 1.08. The burner dates back to 2003 so if you haven't updated it's pretty long in the tooth and may be having difficulty with some of the newer media. You didn't say what the rated speed of the Fuji -R media was. Was it the newer 16X media? Some of the Fuji -R 16X is made by ProDisc and is not of high quality. You can download DVD Identifier from the link below and use it to ID the actual manufacturer of your disks. Other programs will do this as well.

http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/

The link to Pioneer 106D firmware is here:

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/service/support/article/0,,...

Your problems could be the result of out of date firmware not recognizing newer media, poor quality media, a combo of both, or something else. Before looking for something else, we need to rule out both the media and firmware. So I suggest updating to the latest available firmware for your burner and IDing the actual manufacturer of the Fuji media by running DVD Identifier or another program.

One last comment. Given the age of the burner, it is likely not supported much longer with firmware updates from Pioneer.

Thanks for the help. I did update the firmware to 1.08. The disc speed is 16x. The discs were manufactured by Ritek Corp. I bought 100 of these discs and used approx 70 of them prior to this problem. I will by a different brand and try them. Any recomendations?

Thanks
